Hi,

I'm using a TkMessageBox for handling some errors and displaying them
through the message boxes.

My code is as below:
if selectedVer == strNoArchivedRe sults:
tkMessageBox._s how("Error", \
type='ok', icon='error', \
message="Cannot perform Results
Comparison as no results are currently archived for this library")
Note that you are not supposed to use _show, use showerror here instead.
sys.exit()

This message box is displayed when the above comdition is met:
Using sys.exit() is a great pain since this closes my parent GUI ( the
main GUI).
Remove the call to sys.exit then ?

Please suggest some other way around.
Your ask for a suggestion doesn't make much sense to me, try writing
what are you trying to achieve.

First of all, I'm an Asian and I need to input Japanese, Korean and so on. I've tried many PHP IDEs today, but almost non of them supported Unicode (UTF-8) file. I've found that the only Unicode support IDEs are DreamWeaver 8 and Zend PHP Studio. DreamWeaver provides full support for Unicode. However, DreamWeaver is a web editor rather than a PHP IDE. It only supports basic IntelliSense (or code completion) and doesn't have anything...

Hi all. I just installed Ubuntu and I'm learning how to use the bash shell. Aside from the normal commands you can use, I was wondering if it's possible to use Python from the terminal instead of the normal bash commands (e.g. print instead of echo). My main reason for asking is that I like using Python for everything, and if I don't need to learn the bash 'language', then I won't just yet. Thanks.

Hi everybody. I have this code snippet that shows a window without a titlebar (using overrideredirect) and two buttons on it: one quits and the other one brings up a simple tkMessageBox. On Windows (any flavour) the tkMessagebox brings up over the underlying window. On Linux (apparently any flavour) the tkMessagebox brings up under the underlying window. You can drag the popup window near the main window to discover if it's

I'm trying to implement a function typefile that will take a command line input as follows: > type <file1> This command will implement a catenation of file1, equal to the command cat <file1> I need to use execvp() and fork() system calls to create a new process that will type/cat any text file. In my code below, the execvp() call in the function at the bottom gets me the following: ...

Note: You may skip to the end of the article if all you want is the perl code. Introduction Uploading files from a local computer to a remote web server has many useful purposes, the most obvious of which is the sharing of files. For example, you upload images to a server to share them with other people over the Internet. Perl comes ready equipped for uploading files via the CGI.pm module, which has long been a core module and allows users...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
