Re: FW: Using Python to shared memory resources between Linux andWindows

Diez,

What you have said is extremely concerning.
I am now using VMware. With Linux as the Master and windows as the
guest operating system. I was wondering if you have ever had to develop
a share memory resource between Linux and windows within a Vmware setup?

Maybe you can explain what you're trying to get done. There're ways of
sharing _data_, but if you're trying to have simultaneous access to
physical memory from both host and guest, then yes, VMWare tries hard to
prevent that...

Hi, perhaps some of you can help me... I'm installing Python 2.3 (in Linux RedHat 8.0) and I need to build it like a shared library, because I want to interact Python with PostgreSQL. Following the README instructions, I try: ../configure --enable-shared --prefix=/whatever (I'm not root of my system, so I can't use /usr/local/) make make install

I think everyone who used Python will agree that its syntax is the best thing going for it. It is very readable and easy for everyone to learn. But, Python does not a have very good macro capabilities, unfortunately. I'd like to know if it may be possible to add a powerful macro system to Python, while keeping its amazing syntax, and if it could be possible to add Pythonistic syntax to Lisp or Scheme, while keeping all of the...

Howdy all, I'm experimenting with carrying my personal computing environment around on a keychain USB flash storage device. I have the usual suspects on there: SSH keys, GPG keys, program configs. I'm probably not the first to think that a standalone distribution of Python would be a useful thing to have in my back pocket. Finding information on that is proving to be a problem, however.

I would need to make some high-reliability software running on Linux in an embedded system. Performance (or lack of it) is not an issue, reliability is. The piece of software is rather simple, probably a few hundred lines of code in Python. There is a need to interact with network using the socket module, and then probably a need to do something hardware- related which will get its own driver written in C.

First of all, I'm an Asian and I need to input Japanese, Korean and so on. I've tried many PHP IDEs today, but almost non of them supported Unicode (UTF-8) file. I've found that the only Unicode support IDEs are DreamWeaver 8 and Zend PHP Studio. DreamWeaver provides full support for Unicode. However, DreamWeaver is a web editor rather than a PHP IDE. It only supports basic IntelliSense (or code completion) and doesn't have anything...

Hi everyone, Is it possible to write a Python extension that uses the Boehm garbage collector? I have a C library written that makes use of boehm-gc for memory management. To use that, I have to call GC_INIT() at the start of the program that uses the library. Now I want to encapsulate the library as a CPython extension. The question is really is that possible? And will there be conflicts between the boehm-gc and Python memory...

To All, I was wondering if it was possible to utilize python to share a memory resource between a linux and windows system?? It should be stated that both the Linux (CENTOS 5) and windows are physically located on the same computer. Is any of this possible?

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
