OverflowError: regular expression code size limit exceeded

Dear all,

I'm trying to get a large, machine-generated regular expression (many
thousands of characters) to work in Python on a Mac (running Leopard),
and I keep banging my head against this brick wall:
>>update_implic it_link_regexp_ temp()

OverflowError: regular expression code size limit exceeded

I have successfully run this regular expression many times under
linux. I tried it first with the default python iinstallation on
Leopard, 2.5.1, but I've also tried it with tthe latest .dmg i could
find on the python.org site:

Python 2.5.2 (r252:60911, Feb 22 2008, 07:57:53)
[GCC 4.0.1 (Apple Computer, Inc. build 5363)] on darwin

I'm really lost about how to proceed. Any ideas?

Thank you,
Greg

Hello, I've been struggling with a regular expression for parsing XML files, which keeps giving the run time error "maximum recursion limit exceeded". I am setting up a huge database in mysql, and I get the above error in Linux. I believe it is related to the size of one of my tables, which is 4,294,966,772 bytes in size. Can someone help. Hi all, I've got a C program which outputs all its data using a statement of the form: putchar(ch, outfile); This has worked fine for years until it had to output more than 2GB of data today, and I got a "file size limit exceeded" error.

I have a process where I do some minimal reformating on a TAB delimited document to prepare for DTS load. This process has been running fine, but I recently made a change. I have a Full Text index on one column, and punctuation in the column was causing some problems down the line. This column is used only for full text indexing, and otherwise ignored. I decided to use the following regular expression to remove all punctuation (actually...

I have a regular expression that is approximately 100k bytes. (It is basically a list of all known norwegian postal numbers and the corresponding place with | in between. I know this is not the intended use for regular expressions, but it should nonetheless work. the pattern is ur'(N-|NO-)?(5259 HJELLESTAD|4026 STAVANGER|4027 STAVANGER........|8305 SVOLVÆR)' The error message I get is:

I wrote a simple program to continue to create a very large file (on purpose), and even though there is plenty of disk space on that device the program aborted with the error message "File Size Limit Exceeded". The file size was 2147483647. I checked ulimit -a and its set to unlimited. Is this a compiler issue? I would like to see a C code example of how to increase the limit or make it unlimited (if that is a wise thing to do).

I'm asking this for curiosity's sake. Is there a code module size limit? I looked at Access Specifications in help and didn't notice a code limit size. For some odd reason I was under the assumption that code modules couldn't exceed 64K...probably thinking of memos.

I'm getting this in an ASP application on IIS6/W2K3. The page in question is trying to return a XML file approximately 45MB in size. Changing this is not an option. Worked fine on IIS5/W2K. I tried Response.Buffer = False, no joy. So I searched on MSDN and found instructions for increasing the AspBufferingLimit property in the metabase. I increased it to 100MB for that web application, stopped and restarted that web application, still same...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
