Sometimes I get this error.
E.g.
>>> sum = lambda n: n<=1 or n+sum(n-1) # just to illustrate the error
>>> sum(999)
499500
>>> sum(1000)
............

Hi
Please give problems that "HAS TO" to use recursion (recursive calls to
itself.)
Preferrably real world examples, not knights tour.
I'm thinking about eliminating the use of stack...
Thanks.

As we know, Javascript suffers an insufferable lack of a wait() or
sleep() function, and so setTimeOut must step in to take up the slack.
A function can use setTimeOut like sleep() by calling itself after x
seconds. This begs a few questions: Is this design building enormous
calling stacks to nowhere? Will the users machine eventually run out of
memory space to contain this stack? How can this be avoided?
Thanks,

My code does recursion loops through a couple of functions. Due to problematic I/O input this leads sometimes to "endless" recursions and after expensive I/O to the Python recursion exception.
What would be a good method to detect recursion loops and stop it by user-Exception (after N passes or some complex criteria) without passing a recursion counter parameter through all the funcs?

hej folks.
i have a heap with fixed size and want to determine the depth of a
element with given index at compile-time. therefore i wrote some
templates. however, when i use template index_properties<unsigned int>,
i get a compiler-error, complaining about the template-recursion of
__index_properties__. when i add a partially specialized template (the
three commented lines) to stop the template-recursion, it works.
does anyone how to...

Hi,
I encounter a problem with pickle.
I download a html from:

and parse it with BeautifulSoup.
This page is very huge.
When I use pickle to dump it, a RuntimeError: maximum recursion depth

So, it appears that Javascript has a recursion limit of about 1000
levels on FF, maybe less/more on other browsers.
Should such deep recursion then generally be avoided in Javascript?
Surprisingly, deep recursion actually isn't that slow for what I'm
doing. Programming this task recursively is so much more
straightforward to me, but currently I'm forced to use an ugly hack to
avoid going over the 1000 level limit. Of course, it could...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
