Wanted: Email Client with GUI

Hi, although I have googled, I didn't find a Python
email client program fitting to my needs.

What I want is a program (it doesn't have to be so sophisticated
as thunderbird) written totally in python and using a gui
toolkit like pyqt, pygtk, wxpyhton or tkinter.

Who knows such a program? ;)

best regards,

I'm not finding much either. There is this: http://sourceforge.net/projects/usablemail/

This also looked promising: http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Email

It looks like their might be some kind of tkinter email client in the
Programming Python book by Lutz. ( See

)

Hope that helps.

Thanks, that I also found already.

I know XPN, which has also some email functionality.

I only wonder, why there doesn't exist a nice one.

Oh, I here, why do you not write such a thing yourself?

It fails on lack of time. ;)

Why reinvent the wheel? Why not use Mutt and then call any Python
script you want from within Mutt. Or use Python modules written for
Mutt.

See, e.g., http://pyropus.ca/software/

Why not give Chandlar a try? It's mostly python, with some parts written in
C (for speed, I assume).

I maintain various specs and FAQs in manually edited HTML documents, and I'd very much like some simple way of automatic section numbering as in 2.1, 2.1.1, 2.1.2, 2.2 etc, with table of contents generation plugged into the start of the document so that each section can be accessed via a link (and also maybe automatic footnote numbering). ...

I have to prepare an Apache/PHP based (or perl if easier) web page that allows a user to upload very large files, possibly over 10 Gbytes and maybe up to 100 Gbytes. Background: Interoperability between email agents is becoming increasingly important as they diverge more and more in appearance (e.g. graphical vs. non-graphical), focus (e.g. speed vs. looks), and complexity (e.g. ability to parse badly formatted emails). Since we have the discussion going, someone mentioned that the group name should be comp.databases.postgresql. I think this is a good name and I'd like to see what everyone thinks of it. Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows.
