Hi. I have the following questions regarding writing a PHP extension.
You don't have to answer all questions. Please answer everything you
can. I'd really appreciate it.
1. What is the most common version that's used out there? If I wrote
an extension for PHP 4, would it work for PHP 5? Also, is PHP 3 very
different?
2. My extension will need to use an external C++ (not C) library.
That should be all right, right?

Firefox's configuration settings (Prefs.js) can be accomplished via the
interface at about:config.
Q1. Is there any such setting that can be repeatedly altered via
javascript (in a vanilla security environment), without having to
request preivileges? By altered, I mean having it remain in effect the
next time Firefox is restarted.
Q2. If the answer to Q1 is affirmative, is there any such setting that
could have an event associated...

xmlns="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/"
xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"

Hi,
I have been trying to write an image to a database table BLOB field in
MySQL but when I try to retrieve the image to display it, it shows as
being empty. Are there any special considerations I need to take into
account when reading and writing images to a DB? Thanks.

Hi,
I need to write a software that allow to see the desktop and hear the
microphone capture of a remote PC across a network. I need to do that
for a unviresity assignement. The software must run on Windows. Since
I like Python very much I am thinking to write that software in
Python. Do you thinkit is a good choice? Are there libraries for audio
compression (OGG or MP3 or maybe GSM or something like realaudio) and
video compression...

I am in the process of upgrading to XP 64. VS2008 is running fine but one
of my apps, which adds functionality to the Explorer context menu, just
won't work under XP 64.
Googling resulted in my finding an article saying that MSFT recommends
against writing shell extensions in managed code and does not consider
them a supported scenario.
So, can anybody point me to any articles relating to writing shell
extensions in non managed code...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
