I've built a small curses app with an IRC like interface (not for IRC
tho). The last remaining item is to handle resizing the terminal on
SIGWINCH.
I've tried a few things and everything is failing. I first try to
resize my root window using resize() but then my calls to resize other
windows usually fail..
Whats the proper or common...

The appended program freaks python 2.2 & 2.3 completely out. To
reproduce the wierdness: i) copy the source to a file called
consarn.py ii) $ python consarn.py; iii) the program is now doing a
getch(); iv) hit a key; v) the program locks up, the interptreter is
now munching on the CPU; vi) kill the interpreter from another shell;

I'd like to write a class or module in python that allows me to do
on-the-fly color changing in the curses module.
I'm thinking about something along the lines of this:
addstr(y, x, 'hello', brightyellow, blue)
The module would automatically interpret the above as
curses.init_pair(i, curses.COLOR_YELLOW, curses.COLOR_BLUE)

I'm having no success building the curses module on Solaris 8 (yes, I know
it's ancient - advancing the state-of-the-art is not yet an option) for
Python 2.4. Sun provides an apparently ancient version of curses in
/usr/lib, so I downloaded and installed ncurses 5.5, both using default
settings and using --with-shared. When the curses module...

Hi,
I want to add some radio and check buttons to my curses
script. As I understand it, there are no buttons in the
'basic' curses module. Now, I found the curses-extra module,
but I not able to download and install it.
Does anybody have an idea, where I can download the module
or, even better, how I can create radio and check buttons...

I know that the curses module has a long-standing bug wherein cursor
visibility can't be set. I'm looking at using the module for certain
uses, and this isn't a problems (as long as I hide the cursor offscreen)
as I would control visuals to provide a simulated cursor anyway. I'm
wondering, though, if there are any other elements of the curses...

Hello group,
I'm trying to become familiar with the information hiding design rules, and I
have a lot (3) of questions for all you experts. AFAIK, a generic module has 2
files:

module.h

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in...
