Hi,
At start of my application I create one connection object then use
that connection for retrieving ,inserting ,upedating and deleting of
data. While closing the application i close the connection.
My problem is when there occurs an error in one step, i can't
proceed next and ignore that error. e.g if i get error while inserting
data, i can't correct the error and insert again because I always get
the old error message even for new...

Hi,
I have a question about my coding practise. I have a class method to return
a value from a database. I open the connection do my search and dispose the
reader. Open the reader with a new recordset and then close the reader and
close the connection.
I do this for every new record I am adding. But I seem to get an error
around the 770 record to add. The error is and unspecified error at the
connection.open() for that record.

Hi all,
I am dealing with sockets in my code.
I open them like -
System.Net.IPAddress remoteIPAddress = System.Net.IPAddress.Parse
(szIPSelected);
System.Net.IPEndPoint remoteEndPoint = new System.Net.IPEndPoint
(remoteIPAddress, alPort);
// Connect to the remote End point in the socket.

Hi,
I am writing an application using a 3 tier model (Client, Business Layer and
DB)
The DB layer creates a OdbcDataReader object back up to the Client where the
data is read and displayed on the screen.
I then call the Close method of this OdbcDataReader. I had assumed this
closed the connection to the Database, but apparently not (using processlist
in MySQL confirmed the connections were not being closed).
How can I successfully...

We recently installed the .Net framework on a windows 2000 server.
Shortly after that we experienced intermitant problems running a web
based program that accesses an Access 2002 database.
The intranet .asp program works, but as soon as it tries to access the
database for normal users, it gives us an "unspecified error" and that
it can't access the data base.
As the administrator, I found my access was relatively stable. Anyone
else...

Is it so important to close database connections?
As I understand, after processing a request and sending a response,
page object destroyed. So all used connections also destroyed.
Yes?

I have been faced a couple of times with the situation that I wanted to
write a script and was worried about a too frequent opening and closing
mysql connections.
To give some examples:
1)I am trying to develop a photoalbum (also posted a topic called "array /
mysql question"). Of course I can use some wonderful open source albums but
at the same time I want to get more familiar with all the ins and outs so my
idea is a list of...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
