Looks like the installer for the Win32 extensions has changed from Wise to
distutils, so now my automated silent installations don't work anymore.
Anyone know if the distutils binary installer can be run silently? I
haven't been able find a command line reference for distutils binaries (I'm
still sifting through http://www.python.org/doc/current/dist/, though...).
Maybe there is a better way to do an unattended install of the Win32...

From the documentation, it looks like DParser-python will do what I
need, but I'm having trouble getting it installed properly. I'm using a
win32 environment, with official 2.4 Python binaries.
The official DParser for Python win32 binaries
(staff.washington.edu/sabbey/dy_parser) fail, saying that I don't have
Python 2.3 installed. :/
Compling the source on cygwin (with -mno-cygwin) succeeds in
compilation, but then attempting to...

Hi group,
I've installed the win32 binary version of the 8.0beta1 using the
PGInstaller (http://pgfoundry.org/projects/pginstaller).
I've also downloaded the source to compile on our linux boxes and that is
fine. The problem I've got now is building binaries of the contrib folder
for win32 - specifically the fuzzystrmatch and tsearch2 bits - but I'm sure
the rest would be useful.
I've installed MinGW and had a bash at compiling in...

Hi,
I must be going nutty, but I can't seem to find anywhere where I can
get just the binaries for, say, 2.3.5 for win32. I've googled high and
low and all I come up with is installer (MSI/EXE) binaries and the
source code. They have to be somewhere. I cant be the only person
that doesn't want it wrapped in an installer. If I search "win32
python binary" I get about nine thousand results pointing to Mark
Hammond's win32 Python page...

Hi!
We have an application using Python that is intended to work both under
Win32 and Linux.
Since some parts of the code need to be different depending whether we
are under Win32
or Linux, we use the traditional:

For various sundry reasons, I find myself needing to deliver a
Windows-based Python app. I also chose Python 2.5 for this platform.
The app has several requirements, all of which are available for Python
2.5/Win32 except one: pycurl. So I decided to try building the source
but as it turns out, building C programs on Windows isn't nearly as
straightforward as on Linux, so I'm a bit lost.
I've downloaded the free Visual C++ Studio...

When I ssh into a windows machine (running Cygwin sshd), I can
invoke python at the shell prompt (you have to use -i option
and I don't really understand why).
Once it's started there are couple rather odd behaviors:
1) readline support doesn't work.
2) you have call sys.exit() to exit (neither ctrl-D or ctrl-Z
work)

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
