Entity GUI tool?

Ubuntu Drake comes with or allows you to install something called "entity"
which sounds like it ought to be the world's ultimate Python GUI tool.
Nonetheless all I can get it to do looks like this:

Usage: entity [-Vhm] [-g <domain>] [-l <config path>] [-a <files>] [file]
-V Print version and exit.
-g Turn on debug messages. Accepts domain as argument, or 'all'
-a Load all files on command line into Entity.
-m Generate module config files.
-l Specify alternate location for libraries and configuration
directories.
-h Print this message and exit.
entity 1.0.1, compiled: Dec 11 2005 00:49:34

Anybody know anything more about this one?

The ubuntu synaptic package manager claims:

XML-based GUI builder for GTK+
Entity is an XML-based GUI builder and application scripting framework.
It combines the ease of use of XML for GUI layout and the power of Perl,
Python, TCL, JavaScript, and C for the application logic. An Entity GUI
is usually much shorter than the same program written in any other
language.

This package contains the core portions of Entity along with Perl

Looks like it only supports gtk 1.2.

Hi all, I have a DOM tree which is implemented by glib N-ary tree. I serialize the tree to give back an xml document. However, how should I deal with the external entity. Is there any tool or library that can accept a symbol and an entity dtd to return me the entity? Thanks in advance. Regards,

Hi There, Can someone please tell me why the XML spec states that an attribute value with an external entity is forbidden? Or point me to the appropriate document? Or better still, perhaps you know of a work around? It is a little frustrating that the normally powerful external entities are limited in this fashion. Example (myextent.txt contains just one word without a CR):

In XHTML the entity nbsp stands for A normal space like " " is also displayed as an normal space, but multiple spaces like " " are interpreted as 1 space in the xhtml page. So there comes the in handy: with " " you have two spaces. So with the nbsp entity you can create multiple spaces (in the display). Now i have an xml file with entities, i put it in an xsl-file that know xhtml entities.

Is there a predefined entity set for Spanish accents? I know that I could just easily make one, except that I intend to do this for other languages in the future, which may have more accents than Spanish. The closest to what I was expecting was this link: http://www.altheim.com/specs/charents.html ....but the link to the ent file is broken. What is the usual/preferred method that you employ to render special

Hi, I have several tables on SQL Server. Is possible that instead of manually creating entity classes (where each table is represented by a class and each field on the table is represented by a property in the class), I can run some wizard which create all these classes/properties? Any free tool out there? Thanks

Hello all, I'm having a little problem, The UTF-8 parser we are using converts the newline entity ( ) within an attribute that we are using to paliate CSS limitations. After the parser has gone through the document, the entity is converted to \n, which then effectively tosses out the window the behavior we are getting by keepinig the entity AS IS within the document.

I wonder how to indicate in a stylesheet that character entities in an element are not to be transformed as would be the case in XML-to-XML transforms. I want to keep those & " and other character entities in the output as they are in the input. My stylesheet converts them the '&' etc., making the output XML not formed properly. R.P

Hi, I have an Entity data model built in Entity Framework, which sources data primarily from an MS SQL 2008 database, and sources some static (data dictionary) values from code-based objects. I know I *could* store the data dict values in SQL: for various reasons that's not the path I want to take. I have some lookups, which are based on code-based Objects. They are encapsulated in Objects because the values can change during...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
