Hi everybody,
I am writing a base class for <<entity>> stereotype classes, to implement
controlled access to the state and expose some of the access logic (in order
to dinamically build javascript code for client-side checks, for example).
Currently the idiom needed to subclass it is something like:
class Group(Entity):
_interface = Entity._extend_interface(

I have already posted this under 'Simple table organisation question'
here is a more lucid version. It will be under MySQL v4.0 which now supports
unions
Consider 2 entities - books & authors and their respective tables:
book(id, title, author_id)
author(id, name)
Now consider another entity: review. Reviews can be of either books or

Anyone who can help,
I have two tables T1 and T2. T1 has fields K1 and F2 and T2 has fields
K2 and F1. F1 is the foreign key relating to K1 and F2 is the foreign
key relating to K2.
My initial question has been how can I add a row to both tables with
accurate Fx values in one SQL INSERT statement? I have been told it
cannot be done.

Hi, I have an entity class (from a rendering engine)
with about 100 functions now that are virtual. So far
no slowdowns, but since I've done alot of work with
OWL and MFC over the years, and I know that when the
virtual functions get too many, OWL and MFC result
to dispatch tables.
Question is, at what point do I say, "At what point
do I switch to dispatch tables?"

Hi
I'm hoping someone can help me with an access problem I just can't get
my head around. I normally use access as a back end for asp pages,
just to hold data in tables, so queries within access are a mystery to
me, but I can't think of any other way of dealing with the problem.
I have six tables in my db:
tblCompanies (list of companies, primary key CompanyID)
tblOffices (list of office buildings including what company owns/uses

I am working with a database that has client information separated in to 4
related tables - tFolder, tAddress, tEmail, tPhone number. In addition there
are related tables tGifts and tCalls. The database has roughly 22,000
records but should only have around 6,000. The remaining records are
duplicates, but in many cases the correct data for one person is spread out
between the duplicate records and related tables. I need to be able to...

ONU (Optical Network Unit) is one of the key components for providing high-speed Internet services. Its primary function is to act as an endpoint device located at the user's premises. Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
