Hello !
If somebody is interested, here is a small hack I've done today.
There are still some curious effects, but I'm pretty satisfied by the
results, since PHP is not very flexible.
Let me know what you think, I'm looking into talking about somethin ;)

OK, so I've gotten into a philosophical disagreement with my colleague at
work. He is a proponent of the Template Method pattern, i.e.:
class foo
{
public:
void bar() { do_bar(); }
protected:
virtual void do_bar() {}
};

I know that I can catch access to unknown attributes with code something
like the following:
class example:
def __getattr__(self, name):
if name == 'age':
return __age
else:
raise AttributeError

I have a set of classes:
C (base)
C1 (inherits C)
C2 (inherits C)
...
Cn (inherits C)
(the C1..Cn also have subclasses, but thats not really relevant to the
question)

Is it possible to call a method from a parent object, but have the
childs overriden method called instead of the base method?
I want several children objects to all call a certain method when they
are initialized, but they all have different implementations of that
method.
thanks

From reading the documentation, this should be a relatively easy thing. I
have an arraylist of custom class instances which I want to search with
an"indexof" where I'm passing an instance if the class where only the
"searched" property has a value. I expected to get the index into the
arraylist where I could then get the entire class instance. However, the
'indexof' is never calling my overloaded, overrides Equals method. Here is
the...

I think this is more of a style question than anything else... I'm
doing a C++ wrapper around a C event library I have and one of the
items is a timer class, I'm also using this task to learn C++.
Is it cleaner to have users subclass my Timer class and implement the
on_timeout() method? Or should the user use a mixin and provide the
mixin to my Timer class?
The subclass method kinda looks like this..

Consider example:
Animal = function(age) {
this.age = age;
};
Animal.prototype.sleep = function() {
alert("Animal Sleeping...");
};

ONU (Optical Network Unit) is one of the key components for providing high-speed Internet services. Its primary function is to act as an endpoint device located at the user's premises. Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
