How to receve user events from IE on objects within frames

Resurrecting a month old thread.. (listed at
http://groups-beta.google.com/group/...24203f822f7f4b)
Somehow - responses to that thread are not being brought up in
chronological order. Thus the creation of another thread.

The thread listed above proposed a solution to receive events from user
events on the document in a webpage.
However, it seems that this solution does not return events on objects
within
frames in webpages eg . if you go to www.andersondirect.com - the page
is composed of three frames called as topFrame main and address. Now
when I click on say 'Select a Vehicle' which is within main - I do not
get any Onclick event. I also do not get an OnMousemove event if I move
the mouse. However, I do get on Mousemove event on a tag called as
frameset (which is part of the top page).
How does one get events from the frames then?

Hello, I'm trying to capture all keyboard events from some different web page layouts: framesets with different stuff, like flash or whatever ! The problem I am getting is that only focused documents get those events, and even worse, if an "object" like a swf clip gets the focus, all keyboard events are only sent to that object. What I would like is to be able to get the events to a particular script/function so I can handle them...

Hi, Does anybody know why IE5+ does *not* honour array objects (like a table) across a session? Example: Frame A contains a var tableVar which is set via form Frame B (on init) using top.A.tableVar = document.getElementById("someTable"); As long as Frame B is *not* 'refreshed/ reloaded' witk another page the

i started by designing my web page using frames. i had my data entry form in an upper form and my data rows displaying in a lower frame. i soon discovered that ASP.NET is not really meant for frames so I changed this to a single page with both the entry form and the display rows on it which posts back to itself(an improvement i hope?) ok my single page also needs to have the ability to search for stuff as you enter data. I know I can...

My boss asked me to build a program to create a report with logon/logoff events for all users within our windows domain. I'm using .Net to do so and decided to have a program running on the Domain Controler to listen to all new events and send them to a database. This last part I haven't worked on yet, cause I can't tell which events are relevant to write to the db and which are not. I have managed to listen to all the security log...

Hi there, I found your post really helpful..but i wondered if, once I have exposed a public property containing the value of a textbox in a user control..how do I grab this from the calling page? I cant think of the syntax, since my page doesnt know the contents of the class (and therefore, the public...

I have been working on a client project recently that is using winforms ..NET user controls within web pages in Internet Explorer, and need to find out how to make the user control communicate back to the webpage (typically to tell it that it has finished doing something). I started digging around and found out that I needed to implement a COM interface for the .NET user control, and pick up the events from that in Javascript on the...

Hello, I created a user control that has a ListBox and a RadioButtonList (and other stuff). The idea is that I put the user control on the ASPX page multiple times and each user control will load with different data (locations, departments, etc.).

Hi, I have a component where I need to have thread-safe access to a list. Operations on the list are done in critical sections (lock (lockObject) { ... } ) in the usual way, to make sure that no other thread will modify the list while operations are running. However, I at the end of the critical section, I need to fire an OnChange type of event, publishing the changed list item as part of my custom EventArgs. I want to be certain that...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
