The following code works as expected when run in the main body of a python script (ver 2.3.5) on OpenBSD v3.8. but when it is in the body of a function definition it does not work. It does not raise any errors but it simply does not block as expected. I have repeated this in both a cgi envirnoment and a non-cgi environment. I also have repeated it under OpenBSD 3.6 Python Version 2.3.4. To test this you need to run the code from two shells...

HI - Sorry for maybe a too simple a question but I googled and also checked my reference O'Reilly Learning Python book and I did not find a satisfactory answer. When I use readlines, what happens if the number of lines is huge? I have a very big file (4GB) I want to read in, but I'm sure there must be some limitation to readlines and I'd like to know how it is handled by python. I am using it like this:

Hi All, I have an MFC dialog based application, where I can browse for files and open them. For opening files I get the file path and use ShellExecute(...). But with ShellExecute(...), i lose control over the process. So I am now using FindExecutable(...) and CreateProcess(...). Now I am able to wait till the notepad document or similiar ones get closed. (I am using WaitForSingleObject(processInfo.hProcess, INFINITE)).

I'm writing code to backup the back-end file from my front-end. The code will automatically run the routine when the main app is closed and when certain critieria are met. The question is: What are those criteria?? I've seen a number of posts and experienced it myself that compacting can occassionally cause corruption. So I don't want to compact unnecessarily. My thinking is as follows:

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
