Ten days to go until Python-UK...

This is a reminder that there are just ten days left before the UK
Python
Conference. This is the one chance in the UK each year to hear
in-depth
talks on a wide variety of topics from top Python experts. It
takes place at the Randolph Hotel in Oxford on 21-23 April.

https://www.accu.org/conference/python.html

The Python event is part of the ACCU Conference which is one of the
world's
leading events on C++, Java, patterns and development methods.

We are very happy to announce that Greg Stein will be flying in to
talk about "Python at Google" as our keynote talk. We've got a
great array of talks on language features, GUIs, network programming,
testing tools, PyPy; and case studies and expertise from many of the
key Python
companies and projects including Google, the BBC, SchoolTool, PyPy,
AB Strakt, Clocksoft and ReportLab.

Places are limited, so please register now at...

I have tried using the following code to count the specific number of each weekday but get a compile error "User defined type not defined" which I think relates to the first line of the function: - Public Function HowManySpecificDays(StartDate As Date, EndDate As Date) As DayCounts and specifically the word "DayCounts" Can anyone help?

Is there a simple function call within "C" that I can use to convert number of seconds (keep in mind this may be a type longlong and has to work on UNIX and NT) into Days, months, Hours, Minutes and seconds. If anybody can provide me with an example I would be very grateful. Thanks in advance for all that answer this post.

If I set up a task table with an Date_assigned and a number of days to complete the task I calculate the end_date field by using the code below I found in this forum How ever when I enter the Date_assigned and update the record, nothing happens until I manually enter a value in the DaysToComplete field. I want to keep DaysToComplete Constant (5 Days) so I tried to set the attribute in the table with 5 as the default but this does not work....

Occasionally someone posts to this group complaining about the lack of "repeat ... until" in python. I too have occasionally wished for such a construct, and after some thinking, I came up with the class below. I'm hoping to get some feedback here, and if people besides me think they might use it someday, I can put it on the python cookbook. I'm pretty happy with it, the only ugly thing is you have to use a lambda. Ideally i'd like to...

What's the best way to run either an entire python process or a python thread every N days. I'm running Python 2.4.3 on Fedora Core 5 Linux. My code consists of a test and measurement system that runs 24/7 in a factory setting. It collects alot of data and I'd like to remove all data older than 30 days. My ideal solution would be something that runs in the background but only wakes up to run every few days to check for old data. Thanks,

hello, I am strangely confused with a date calculation problem. the point is that I want to calculate difference in two dates in days. there are two aspects to this problem. firstly, I can't get a way to convert a string like "1/2/2005" in a genuan date object which is needed for calculation. now once this is done I will create a another date object with today = datetime.datetime.now() and then see the difference between this today and...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
