You should always put the question in the body of the message. Not all
newsreaders make it easy to see the subject when the body is displayed.

Posting to one of the Plone lists is more likely to get you a comprehensive
answer, but:

Subject: creating users from a text file in Plone : how ?

Use:

acl_users.chang eOrCreateUsers( new_users=listo fUserIds,
default_passwor d=whatever, REQUEST=REQUEST )

to create a list of users, then iterate through them calling

user = portal_membersh ip.getMemberByI d(userid)
user.setMemberP roperties({'ema il':email, 'fullname':full Name})

to get the user object and set the fullname and email.

After a hiatus, a new group for Python, Zope, and Plone programmers in DC is forming. Our goal is to network and further educate ourselves on programming in Python. While not exclusively for Zope or Plone developers, we expect there to be a focus for these technologies. We have a formation meeting scheduled: Thursday, July 8th 7:00pm-9:00pm Porter Novelli Board Room, 1909 K Street NW.

I have just started tinkering with Plone and, as is to be expected, I've run into some issues. What I want to know is: does anybody know if there's a group for Plone users as opposed to Python programmers or Zope administrators?

Hello Can some one explain what are the differences between "plone" and "Apache + mod_python"? From plone.org. It says "Plone is powerful and flexible. It is ideal as an intranet and extranet server" does this mean if I use "plone" I do not need to install "Apache + mod_python"? Thanks in advance!

I prefer to use my own text format instead of StructuredText or the like, because I also use emacs outline mode a lot. What would be the best approach for creating this new content type in Zope/Plone? Writing a new Plone product with page templates seems fairly involved, but maybe it's desirable to have that control. Would Archetypes suffice? Thanks in advance,

Hi All, I looking for help with ZODB data export to text file. I have file Data.fs (file becomes from Plone CMS) and I have to display content structure, data like intro, body of article, etc and save it in to simple file. Hi; My ASP.NET app (C# calling J# under .net 2.0) creates a png file in a subdirectory to display as part of the created page. However, the bitmap will not display due to a security violation. Everything is the default settings I believe. IIS is running under Local System. In IIS the DefaultAppPool is running under Network Service. Annonymous access uses the account IUSR_JASMINE (machine name is Jasmine).

I'm not sure if this is the right venue for Plone questions, if not, could someone ref me to a better one? The discussion groups on the plone site are mailing lists and I'd rather not subscribe quite yet. Does plone support distinct sets of users? That is, on a public website running plone, can it be configured such that when a user logs in they are allowed access to a subgroup's main page, get the subgroup's newsletter as well as the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
