Hello everyone,
I need some tar functionality for my program. Currently the following
code properly displays tar archives, and tar.gz archives. However, it
chokes on tar.bz2 archives with the following error:
File "mail_filter.py", line 262, in extract_archive
tar_archive = tarfile.open('', 'r', fileobj)
File "/usr/lib/python2.3/tarfile.py", line 900, in open
return func(name, "r", fileobj)

Hello,
I'm trying to get a popup to keep focus when it is re-clicked.
The script below is supposed to produce this exact behaviour,
however it doesn't work, at least on firefox 1.0.7 and moz 1.7.12
(linux kubuntu). It does work with konqueror.
It seems to work with firefox on windows but not with IE (not completly
sure though).

The major complaint I have about Python is that the packages
which connect it to other software components all seem to have
serious problems. As long as you don't need to talk to anything
outside the Python world, you're fine. But once you do, things
go downhill. MySQLdb has version and platform compatibility
problems. So does M2Crypto. The built-in SSL support is weak.
Even basic sockets don't quite work right; the socket module...

Hi all,
I'm using the gzip module to return a gzip response from a small
python httpserver. I'd like to know the number of bytes written to
the underlying socket, but it doesn't seem to support the tell()
function. This works fine for a file:
mattb ~ $ cat mygzip.py
#!/usr/bin/env python

I'm using urllib2 and accepting gzip and deflate.
It turns out that almost every site returns either normal text or
gzip. But I finally found one that returns deflate.
Here's how I un-gzip:
compressedstream = StringIO.StringIO(data)
gzipper = gzip.GzipFile(fileobj=compressedstream)
data = gzipper.read()

Appears like a patch was submitted to allow GzipFile to work from
pipes long ago. But there's no comment on why this was never accepted.
Is there a good reason?

Hello, I'm using tiny MCE plugin on my oscommerce and it is inserting my website URL when I use insert image function in the emails.
The goal is: Make it send the email with the URL http://mghospedagem.com/images/controlpanel.jpg
instead of
http://mghospedagem.comhttp://mghospedagem.com/images/controlpanel.jpg
As u see, there's the website URL before the image URL.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
