I have an object that's passed in to a function as a parameter i.e public
boolean getProjectTitle(ProjectHeader_DTO obj) {...}
If I then call a method on this object inside the function i.e
obj.setTitle("test") then using obj.getTitle() from outside the function it
displays the property set correctly!
But doing something like this inside the function doesn't -
ProjectHeader_DTO x = new ProjectHeader_DTO();

Dear all,
I thought I understood passing parameters ByVal and ByRef but I
clearly don't! If I define a simple class
of:
Public Class Person
Public Name as String
Public Age as Integer
End Class

}
alert("imgOff_hidemenu");
hideMenu=setTimeout('Hide(menu,num)',500);

I want a function to execute another function, which I pass to it,
sometimes it may be mm_6r6c_6r6c, mm_2r2c_2r2c, ... etc. thus this style.
double exec_basecase(void (*func)(double *a, double *b, double *c),
double *a, double *b, double *c, int numRowsA, int numColsA, int numColsB)
{
...../*other code*/
func(a, b, c);
.....
}

The library function 'qsort' is declared thus:
void qsort(void *base, size_t nmemb, size_t size,
int(*compar)(const void *, const void *));
If in my code I write:
int cmp_fcn(...);
int (*fcmp)() = &cmp_fcn;
qsort(..., fcmp);
then everything works. But if instead I code qsort as:

Does the following program exhibit undefined behavior? Specifically,
does passing a struct by value cause undefined behavior if that struct
has as a member a pointer that has been passed to free()?
#include <stdlib.h>
struct stype
{
int *foo;
};

Hi,
I have an unmanaged application that converts a function pointer to a
delegate and then pass this as a parameter(delegate) to a managed function
which then invokes it. Currently Im able to jump to this unmanaged function,
but the values of the parameters inside this function Im seeing are not
correct(they have some garbage values).
//unmanaged class (C++ application)

Hi,
In order to use an external api call that requires a function pointer I
am currently creating static wrappers to call my objects functions.
I want to re-jig this so I only need 1 static wrapper function.
I would prefer to be able to pass the member function as a void* to the
static wrapper but I suspect this may not even be possible.
Another solution would be option 2 below but I can't figure out the
syntax to call obj->*pFn().

I'm using ctypes to call a fortran dll from python. I have no problems
passing integer and double arryas, but I have an error with str arrys.
For example:
.....
StringVector = c_char_p * len(id) # id is a list of strings
Id_dat=StringVector()
for i in range(len(Id)):
....Id_dat=id

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
