Translation (used to be 'Moving around in a string')

Hello Again Everyone,

As previously aforementioned in my post 'Moving around in a string',
I've finally found my result to the pig_latin approach.

[start code]

import string

choice = raw_input("Woul d you like pig latin (p) or ubby dubby (u) translation? ")

sentence = raw_input("Plea se enter a sentence: ")

#Split up the sentence
words_within = sentence.split( )

#Pig Latin
if choice == "p":

words_within = sentence.split( " ")
for word in words_within[0:]:
pig_latin = word[1:]+word[0]+"ay"
print pig_latin,

[end code]

Now all I have to find out how to do is find a vowel within the words of a
string and then do the ubbi dubbi thing (adding 'ub' after every spoken
vowel in a word it describes)

The kernel proximity of...

Just thought None as the first argument would be both handy and mnemonic, signifying no translation, but allowing easy expression of deleting characters, e.g., s = s.translate(None, 'badcharshere') Regards, Bengt Richter

Is there anything that gives a good description of how source code is converted into a translation unit, then object code, and then linked. I'm particularly interested in understanding why putting normal functions in header files results in multiple definition errors even when include guards are used. -- STH Hatton's Law: "There is only...

hello, I've build a translation tool, to translate all strings in a python source file. As a extra gadget I added translation through Babel Fish, using beautifulsoup. Although it works functionally, it can take lots of time waiting for the translation.
