Plone question

KH
Sorry, if this is the incorrect forum for this post; I couldn't find a
better one.

I'm just learning to use Plone/Zope and I'm trying to create a form in
one of the plone documents. Needless to say, creating an HTML document
and putting the code <dtml-var URL0> is blank, and no other dtml related
variables seem to be doing anything. Wondering if this is maybe a
simple configuration or user-error issue? Thanks~

Hi,
Sorry, if this is the incorrect forum for this post; I couldn't find a
better one. Yes it is.

You should probably take a look at:
http://plone.org/development/lists/ (official plone lists)

or:
http://mail.zope.org/mailman/listinfo (more general zope lists)

Josef

Hello Can some one explain what are the differences between "plone" and "Apache + mod_python"? From plone.org. It says "Plone is powerful and flexible. It is ideal as an intranet and extranet server" does this mean if I use "plone" I do not need to install "Apache + mod_python"? Thanks in advance!

I would like to exclude some files from Plone control within the same virtual host. The problem is, I cannot use mod_rerwite because Plone needs mod_proxy for working correctly. So the following rule does not work for *.php files at all: RewriteEngine on RewriteRule \.php - ProxyPass / http://host.com:8080/VirtualHostBase/http/host.com:80/mysite/VirtualHostRoot/ ProxyPassReverse /

I'm conducting some research about CMS systems and I have limited the choices to several that fit my needs. Many of them have live demos, so I can try and see, but I didn't find such for Plone. Is there one? I also didn't see one very important feature - personalization. I'm not sure if I am using the correct term but I my company we call personalization the ability of the site to show different content depending to the user who has...

Hallo, I have an existing plone site called "info", I've added some scripts to it. I would like to have that plone site into a separate ZODB database(separate ..fs file). There is a MountFolder product (1.2 - the latest release), by mean of this you can create MountFolder which data is stored in separate ZODB database.

I'm using plone primary as a news system for my school. Now I want to integrate external sources into my plone site. The page is http://www.vucaarhusamtvucwin.dk/hold.asp?v1=randers&v2=randers&v3=a&v4=a which shows the various courses my school offers. This site i updated from a database. And i want to integrate it into my plone site. The links oni should thus not "link away" from my plone site but only show the informationen.

Hi everyone, I am currently a student, and for our HCI class project we are redeveloping our CS website. I attend a very large university (around 30,000 students), and the CS site will need to be updated by many people that don't have technical skills (like clerical staff). The biggest problem with the current site is that not enough people have access to update it. Since I love python, these seemed like viable solutions.

I want a new python based CMS. ... One that won't keep me up all night .... I've been fooling around with zope and plone, and I like plone for some things, such as a repository for online project documentation. However for general-purpose web development it is too monolithic. Is there anything out there with the following properties? 0. Web page being developed is a typical small business home page (i.e. not a newspaper or a blog)....

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
