Do you know about the macpython-sig? That's often a better place for
these questions.

Yep. I also have ~/bin/python and soemtimes /sw/bin/python too...
Note that /usr/local/bin/python is a symlink (or a shim, forget which)
to /Library/Frameworks/Python.framewor k/Versions/Current/bin/python
(or something like that).

Um, not sure what you're asking here.

If you haven't got Tk installed, Tkinter doesn't have much of a
chance. Googling for "AquaTk" might help (I've never tried it).

Strangely enough I saw just such a beast at the grocery store
last night. Starbucks sells Javachip. (It's ice cream, but that
shouldn't be an obstacle for the Java marketing people.)

On my desk here at work I have a Mac G4 running Mac OS X v10.2.8.
When I go into a terminal and type "python" up comes a nice python
interface and all seems great. However when I type "import Tkinter"
I'm greeted by the following error.
>>> import Tkinter

Ok, I've installed MacPython. It doesn't seem to work right though...

Hi, I just tried to run Tkinter on OS X 10.3.9 under Python 2.4.3, and
I'm getting a bus error as soon as I call Tk(). Googling has turned up
info other Tkinter bus errors, but not this one that occurs right away,
before doing anything fancy.
Tk/Tcl is definitely installed on my computer, as verified by running
"wish" and seeing the window come up. "info patchlevel" returns 8.4.5.
Here's the tail of the output from python -v:

After much wailing and gnashing of teeth the past couple of days, I managed
to move (most of?) the content from the MacPython wiki to the main Python
wiki (*). All pages were created as subpages of
http://wiki.python.or/moin/MacPython
The motivation for this rather hasty move was that the MacPython wiki was
running an ancient version of MoinMoin and got spammed heavily. Because of
its age and vulnerability it was simply too hard to...

I'm having trouble with tkinter on a new installation of Python (2.6),
built with the framework option from source that was downloaded from
python.org. I'm running OS 10.4 on a PowerPC G4.
The problem first arose when I tried to run matplotlib - it couldn't
find tcl/tk because it was searching for 8.5, and I had 8.4. I found
and built tcl/tk 8.5, which led to a new error, reproduced below:

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
