Hello all,
Pardon my ignorance here. I would like to talk to someone that has
had success in calling ddls in Windows NT/2000/XP.
I am wondering where to dload any of these packages? Google searches
keep turning up articles similar to this.
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!

I've dev'ed a Python prototype of an app, that besides the internals making
it up has a gui. While test-driven dev'ing the app's internals in Python is
fun as usual, dev'ing the GUI is not so funny, at least for me.
I guess dev'ing a GUI in a test-driven way is not possible, or is it? I'm
using wxPython, so if anyone has an idea...
For now most of the time I extend and change the gui things, then run it, do
the clicks to go thru the...

Hi,
I can find a few questions regarding the use of distutils for making
non-python windows installers, but none of them really helps. Are
there any pointers on how to do this? Can it be done?
A little OT: What about making MSI installation files instead of .exe?
Is it a good idea to consider at all?

Hi all,
I have the following question and hope the .NET experts here can help me:
I developed an application and created many DLLs in VC++, then I switched
the platform from VS6 and compile in VS.NET. Odd thing happens now that the
newly compiled application is successful to call a function in the DLL (a
dialog will appear) on a machine which has VS.NET installed. But if I try on
another machine without VS.NET, then the dialog won't...

Hi,
I'm looking to call a method of a class which is declared in a dll. I know
it's not a simple case of calling dllImport because of the fact that classes
are involved. Does anyone have an example of how this is done?
TIA

I am trying to install Python 2.5 on Windows XP. It installs into the
root directory on C:\ instead of C:\Python25 which it shows by default
as what it plans to install to. Selecting D:\Python25 on a previous
iteration put the exe in D:\ and did not create a Python25 directory.
On the most recent iteration, when requesting an install to D:
\Python25 it appears to have put files on C:\. I am installing on
Windows XP Professional. When it...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
