Display message while running...

c42
I'm writing a script that needs a message not to touch the screen while
it runs. (Windows NT/2K/XP)

I tried win32api.messag ebox, but this stops the program until someone
clicks on OK. (A response (ie. "OK") is not required.)

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Hello there, I've a utility that runs on a linux machine. Basically, it opens a window, draws a figure and captures the image (screen) and stores it as a jpeg file. The utility requires a window to be open (or displayed) inorder to save the image. Also, this utility is in the form of an executable, so I can't possibly alter it. I want to run this utility from a windows web browser and display the saved jpeg file. I pass some command...

I was wondering if someone knew about a control for .NET that allows me to display log messages from an application while it is running. The following things are necessary: - word-wrap - clickable hyperlinks (preferrably able to send clicks on these to the application as an event, but if not I can probably make due) - images (for showing small glyphs for warnings, errors, etc.) - formatting (like a few colors (red=error, etc.), bold,...

Does anybody know if it is possible for me to display a web page from within my windows application when using No Touch Deployment. Currently, we do almost everything in the windows client. However, we have a few reports on our website that we make available through the windows client for convienence. What I'm trying to do is figure out a way to display the web page when the user selects the page from our menu. I'm open to any ideas...

Hi. I have a web page which is running a stored procedure. This page has a graphic on it so the user knows something is running and the page is not frozen. This query runs for approx 40 seconds. I would like to be able to display the HTML (graphic) before running this sproc. As it is right now, the page just sits blank until the stored procedure is done. After the procedure runs it redirects it to another page.

Hello. We're developing an ASP.NET 2.0 (C#) application and we're trying to AJAX-enable it. We're having problem with a page not showing the page while a long-running process is executing. So, we're looking for a way to display the page with a "please wait..." message while the process is running, and then, when the process is done, update the page with the actual results/page content. We have a page that opens another browser/page...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
