I've been bad about documentation so far but I'm going to try to be
better. I've mostly worked alone so I'm the only one, so far, who's
suffered from my bad habits. But I'd like other programmers to have an

I'm thinking of implementing a real-time collaborative text editor in Python
using Twisted. An initial plan is to use a Twisted PB server daemon that
accepts user:password:file connections from text editor clients to make
changes to a specified file on the server, and have the text editor clients
update their local copies of the file based on local user input or input
entered from other users, relayed via the server.

I am coding a microkernel based off of Tanebaum's theroy. For Isis to
be extensible, fast, and secure, it has been decided it will be a
microkernel. Not in the old Mach sense of the word, but in the size of
the entire project. It is a microkernel, that will limit interprocess
communication.
But as Tanenbaum says, you learn nothing by reading theroy alone. The

I have an application which is heavily graphics intensive, all the graphics
being custom.
Scattered throughout by app, I have
MyView->OnDraw( this->GetDC() );
Apparently, each call to this->GetDC() creates a GDI object and, 16,000 or
so calls to OnDraw() results in the Application hanging because it can no
longer create any new GDI objects ( I know, 16,384 )

My model:
A client uses IE to talk with a server.
The user on the client (IE) sees an ASP net page containing
a TextBox. He can write some text in this text box and
