update eclipse plugin, work in progress?

Does anyone know if work is in progress to update the python plugin for eclipse?
www.eclipse.org

The features of the current plugin is weak compared to the features of for example java.
My background from the VA environment for Java and Smalltalk makes me hungry in getting the same strong IDE for Python.
Don't mind looking at ways to expand this Python plugin, if possible and if time, but definitely don't have the time to reinvent the wheel.

Please feedback.

Which one? The community pages show three(!) different plugins, two of which
are hosted on Sourceforge and look pretty moribund to me. The third
(Truestudio) looks quite active, with a current update on June 29, 2003.

For the ones on Sourceforge, get in touch with the project owners.

I've installed Eclipse 3.0 and the latest pyeclipse. I can get the editor run - at least I think so, because it seems to do reasonable syntax highlighting. However, I can't get the Python console window to appear (Unable to instantiate view: org.python.pyeclipse.views.ConsoleView), nor can I get python to run to completion. The MSWindows...

Hello all, I would like to debug my python libraries, written in c++, with GDB (gnu debugger) I'm using the mingw compiler in a windows environment. As development environment I use eclipse with the CDT plugin. This plugin also has a nice GUI frontend for the GDB. I've already tried several setups, no setup seemed to work.

Summary --------- I'm looking for a C++ IDE. If I'm going to learn something, I prefer it to be free-of-charge (preferably and open-source base), extensible (read: language independent, plug-in capable, etc), and platform independent. A broad community of support would be nice, too.

I anyone using Eclipse? If so, can you give me a clue to get started. I keep reading about how good an IDE it is, but it does not seem to help with Web stuff (CSS/HTML/JavaScript). I downloaded a variety of plug-ins, but it just seems like a hard to use straight text editor. What am I doing wrong? -- Matt Silberstein

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...
