The python README states: On SGI IRIX, there are modules that interface to many SGI specific system libraries, e.g. the GL library and the audio hardware. These modules will not be built by the setup.py script. I have an SGI running Irix 6.5.17 with MIPSpro 7.3 compiler and would like to build these modules. I have used the

I have written a script to find the modules which export the largest number of names. The gc.getreferrers(*objs) function gives also an idea of the dependencies between the modules. The code (statsmod.py) : #!/usr/bin/env python # -*- coding: latin-1 -*- """

From time to time, I find myself cross checking one block of code against another. Usually older stuff in which I've made modifications that don't work. I don't remember what all the changes were so I have to print an earlier version and compare it against a printout of a more recent version. I am dyslexic and it is helpful to have someone read one copy while I follow along on another copy until we hit a discrepancy. Could I somehow...

Hi all, Is it possible to execute a command like 'CompileAndSaveAll' at runtime? In a new app I use a codelibrary. (The app is still changing, codelib also) I add this lib to the references at startup with code. By adding the lib the db enters a 'decompiled' state. I would like to compile at runtime or is this not needed?

Is there a standard way using the preprocessor to detect if a given C compiler/library environment provides the C99 <math.h> floating point functions such as: float powf(float x, float y); float sqrtf(float x); etc so we could "provide" these prototypes or not via our

I was trying to follow instructions to create a multifile assembly. My project had two simple classes, MathLib and StringLib with a single method each. The instructions told me to compile each clase into modules using the pattern csc /t:module MathLib.cs and csc /t:module StringLib.cs

Hi All, We have done a object oriented design for a system which will create a class multiply inherited by around 1000 small and medium sized classes. I would be greatful if you can help me with the following: Can this create any problems with GNU g++ compilation, linking etc? What would be the impact to the performance of the system? Anything else we have to consider?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
