I need to test some lsof source code and have loaded Flawfinder 1.22 to
test it. Flawfinder required Python 1.5 or better so I loaded Python
2.2.3. This is all running on an HPUX 11.11 server.
When I run:
/opt/flawfinder-1.22/flawfinder /usr/local/bin/lsof-4.67
I get the following error:
No such file or directory: python
I am totally new to all these programs. Can anyone help????

When I try to build Python 2.3 on HP-UX 10.20 using their cc compiler,
I get a compile failure. It comes down to Python/thread_pthread.h
deciding that my machine is an unsupported system, as documented in
the README file. ("Systems defining PY_PTHREAD_D4..."). Apparently,
Python 2.3 doesn't like their implementation of pthreads. However, in
the "Platform specific notes" section, there is a note about HP-UX
10.20 which makes me believe...

I'm having a problem on windows (both 2000 and XP) with a multi-threaded
tkinter gui application. The problem appears to be a deadlock condition
when a child thread pops up a
Pmw dialog window in the context of a main window. The problem does not
occur on HPUX or Linux. The following simple example code illustrates
the problem and the work around
I've come up with; However, I'd like, very much, to get rid of the kludgy
work around....

All,
I've got a process that creates some children and want to be alerted
when they die. To do this, the SIGCHLD signal is registered in the
process using sigaction to jump to a subprogram as soon as it's
received.
The problem comes when many children exit at the same time and their
father seems to miss some of them. This happens quite often, but not
always.

Does anyone have a working unpack template for the utmp file on HPUX? I've
figured out the Solaris and AIX templates but I just can't get the HPUX one
working. Searches of past usenet posts have come up empty.

Hello,
I am working on cross platform code that is displaying a huge memory
leak when compiled on 11.00 HPUX using the aCC -AA flag. It is not
leaking on NT, LINUX, Solaris, or HPUX without the -AA flag. In
another news group I came across some interesting (ok scarey)
information regarding memory leaks in the STL list<...> container. I
have compiled and executed the following code and verified that this
does in fact leak on my system.

The major complaint I have about Python is that the packages
which connect it to other software components all seem to have
serious problems. As long as you don't need to talk to anything
outside the Python world, you're fine. But once you do, things
go downhill. MySQLdb has version and platform compatibility
problems. So does M2Crypto. The built-in SSL support is weak.
Even basic sockets don't quite work right; the socket module...

Hello,
I'm developping an application with python, pyGTK and GTK+.
I've performed many tests by using methods as Popen, popen2,
os.system ... to communicate with Unix (HPUX),
The last attempt is this code written in a thread :
fin,fout = popen2.popen2('ps -def')
line = fin.readline()
while 1 :
if not line : break

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
