Does anybody have a nice method of forcing a user to enter a value into a
form using asp?
I think the best is to have a popup when they hit submit that will stay on
the same page and then just alert the user to enter something in so and so
text box.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
What exactly does the above (subject) error mean? I'm getting it from an
adp file when used by a few people at the same time (each user has the
file in their own filespace though). Access is through windows
authentication and it only seemed to occur during an update of a
specific table.. The problem is it didn't happen to everyone and...

what a waste of money.
visual studio does not handle user control files - these are files with
and ascx extension are are refered to in the help as 'user-authored
server controls'.
the VS help says to use a text editor to create these controls (i
wonder if they'd recommend emacs) - however, web matrix handles these
files fine and you can...

Hi,
If the client tries to access a web service with invalid namespace, it gets
a SOAP exception as invalid SOAPAction.
The invalid namespace will happen because the proxies on the client side
were generated before the namespace on the server side was updated.
I would like to handle this myself and throw a SOAP exception with more...

Hi,
If I am right Endianness is CPU related. I do not know if the
question is right in itself but if it is then how does C handle issues
arising out of Endianness.
I understand that if we pass structures using sockets across platforms,
we need to take care of Endianness issues at the application level. But
for example, for the code using...

When I call the standard strncpy function, I provide it a negative
argument,
such as:
strncpy(s, ct, -1)
I compile the code with gcc, when I run, it says "Segmentation fault".
Do you think it's ok? I try this to see how the library handle invalid
parameter.

I have a customer with an hp 2210 all-in-one USB connection, running in Windows XP Pro, that worked fine for several months. I found the printer was no longer recognized and, after attempting to uninstall/reinstall the print driver software, I get a message that "the printer handle is invalid". What does this mean (these error messages never tell...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...
