Is there a PHP cursor?

13 New Member
Good day to all,

I just wanted to ask if there is an equivalent of Oracle's Cursor in PHP?
Does anyone here know how to create a cursor in PHP?

Thank you in Advance.

Heya, Ghe.

You mean a PostgreSQL cursor? PHP is not a database engine.

Ahm, yup, PHP is not a database engine, but it offers some functions that is use to run PostgreSQL codes, such as pg_query, pg_connect, pg_copy_from, etc.

I think the function, pg_query() is 1 of the solutions that can be use in the creating a Oracle's Cursor-like in PHP. I'm not sure, but, the pg_query() returns a result set base from the pgsql code that is being passed to it. So maybe the returned result set of pg_query() can be use as a cursor.

Hi.

If you are looking for Oracle like cursors in PHP, you may want to check out the Oracle Functions, specifically the oci_new_cursor function.

I have set onmousedown to change the cursor, but this setting is ignored (IE 5.5; NN 6.1 on Win 2K Pro) until the mouse is either moved or the mouse button is released. On Opera 7.01, the setting seems to be ignored completely, even when I try with window.setTimeout. So my two questions are: (1) Most important: Is there anything I can do...

Does Me.Cursor.Current=Cursors.WaitCursor set the current property of Me.Cursor to Cursors.WaitCursor And Me.Cursor.Current=Cursors.Default set the Me.Current property to something (default) stored in Me.Cursor. Or is Cursors.Default some process wide cursor shape? What is a correct statement?

In the code below, clicking on the button ButtonChangeCursor changes the form's cursor to a WaitCursor. Clicking the button ButtonRestoreCursor changes the form's cursor back to its original cursor. For the reasons I explain below I wouldn't expect this code to behave as it does, so why does it work? Public Class Form1 Dim OldCursor As...
