How actually the query executes in PostgreSql database. Different phases of execution and where actually the Datafiles, LogFiles and Control Files reside while installing PostGresSql in Linux Machine. Is there any feature like Replication exists in PostgreSql. However, this is open source but material availability is very rare. One more thing, while studying i found out that it had some System Catalog viz.. pg_user, pg_view, pg_tables... What I did, I have created one table named pg_user with one column in it. It got created successfully. But when I am trying to Drop it .. it throws me an exception saying pg_user is a view not table. But I can see that as table in my user schema. There are many more things which I need to discuss and learn. If anybody founds this thread interesting and worth investing his/her time. Please write. Replies Awaited!

With this broad array of questions you should start with looking at the Postgresql documentation and manuals
Once you've made your way through the basics you will find that people here do have interest and spirit to pick up pretty much any discussion on a clearly defined question.
Sorry you had to wait for response this long...

Hi I'm a developer currently wondering which DB choose for my next project. I looked on the net found ofcourse Oracle but also came up with PostgreSQL. I heard quite few things about it, all good so I'm wondering how really it is. Till now I've been working on MSSQL and Interbase. So PostgreSQL and Oracle are pretty new to me. I would have to learn them from the start there for I have to make a wise decision :D

Hi all, Following up on another thread, here is a comparison between FB and PG from an FB'ers POV. BTW, FB is the love-child of Open-Source-Interbase. BTW, I have tried to be as accurate as I can with the information available to me at this point in time - I was unable to find anything resembling a feature list on the FB site, so most of this is from memory. I do have an email account on the various lists on that site, and I will post...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
