pg_clog errors

1 New Member
We had pg_clog files for ages and were not cleared.
We performed a vacuum on template1 and most of the files were cleared.

Now we are getting
DETAIL: could not open file "/y/pgdata/pg_clog/08F0": No such file or directory
2006-10-02 06:46:36 ERROR: could not access status of transaction 2399531383

There are no hardware errors or bad blocks.

Please help.
Thanks.

I am running postgres 7.4Beta1 and have found a problem, I'm not sure if its a bug or something I did wrong. I ran ANALYZE on a large table while the database was receiving data, after running it on just my large table I decided to run it on my entire database. When I issued the database wide analyze I got an error: data=# analyze; ERROR: could not access status of transaction 739760128 DETAIL: open of file...

My database appears to be a little corrupted, so far it's running along 99% ok, but i am getting some strange results. Primarily i can't back it up because of the following error. Similar errors occur when I try to drop a table. boo:/var/backups# su postgres pg_dump rj > /var/backups/rj.dump pg_dump: FATAL 2: open of /var/lib/postgres/data/pg_clog/0004 failed: No such file or directory pg_dump: lost synchronization with server,...

We had one of our databases suddenly try to reference a pg_clog file that didn't exist whenever we attempted to select from a certain table. Anyone know of a way to recover from this? Is there a way to reset the transaction logs and just use whatever data is actually stored in the system? -- Adam Haberlach | "We spent the 90's all trying to figure out adam@mediariffic.com | how to get email and the 00's trying to...

After trying a vacuum of a table, the following error has been occurring: aers=# vacuum XXXXXX; ERROR: could not access status of transaction 4290052110 DETAIL: could not open file "/usr/local/pgsql/data/pg_clog/0FFB": No such file or directory This error will be repeated every time the vacuum is run. Hi: I'm running a large database on PostgreSQL 7.1.3. 20 days ago the database failed with a threatening and not too descriptive error like: pg_exec() query failed: server closed the connection unexpectedlyThis probably means the server terminated abnormally before or while processing the request. I lost some data and had to recreate a table, without knowing the reason

First things first: Postgresql 8.4.2 on Fedora Core 2 X86. Something seems to have happened to my pg_xlog and pg_clog directories after (I believe) a power outage. In the course of trying to figure out why the server wouldn't start, I cleaned out pg_clog and pg_xlog, in an obviously vain attempt to reset things. I was under the impression that the server could start without those files. Now I seem to be stuck. So now what?

Hi, We about a week ago installed a clean version of postgres 7.4.5 for testing purposes. For the last couple of days for any transaction it has been complaining about: Thu Sep 23 09:36:24 2004: ERROR: could not access status of transaction 941262 Thu Sep 23 10:10:01 2004: DETAIL: could not open file "/nw/data/pgdata/pg_clog/0000": No such file or directory

On Saturday, our database machine locked up hard on us due to some faulty hardware. Since then, we have been getting messages like this: ERROR: could not access status of transaction 143934068 DETAIL: could not open file "/usr/local/pgsql/data/pg_clog/0089": No such file or directory Looking in /usr/local/pgsql/data/pg_clog, the "0089" file isn't there. Some investigation revealed these messages:

In reference to the pg_clog errors I'm having, I am still looking for tips or help. Here's the info again: "ERROR: could not access status of transaction 143934068 DETAIL: could not open file "/usr/local/pgsql/data/pg_clog/0089": No such file or directory Now, despite creating an 8k file of zeros (or a 256k file of zeros to match the others in the directory), when I start the database and try a vacuum, I get the same message, and...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
