I have this function everywhere in our SQL server 2000 stored
procedures. Has anyone written a workaround function for it? I would
appreciate if you could share. As you can imagine, searching the
groups for "stuff" returns a lot of, well... stuff. But not what I'm

In my opinion an absolute YES !
Take a look at what we are doing ! we create TAGS, things like <H1> etc.
and although there are tools (dreamweaver and the like), they are all at the
lowest level of programming (something like assembly as oposed to C++ etc.).
These tools create "brain-dead" developers that constantly have to plough
through tons of tags to do the simplest thing.

Hello,
I need to be able to replace only the first occurance of a space character
in a column.
Reason being is the data in the column I am trying to replace seems to have
umpteen space characters after each entry, so a simple replace function
will replace all the spaces after it with what I want!
I have thought of RTRIM to get rid of the spaces after and then replace, I

I'm trying to make a page that will become a part of another page, ie.
included in the HTML at a particular point.
How do I do this so all the stuff inside MY page remains intact,
relative to each other, that is, since a lot of the stuff is absolute
positioned, if I say that flower.jpg is at (200,300), it shows up at
(200,300) in the -complete- page instead of in the little bit that is

Firstly, to get msvcrt.lib, install the .NET framework SDK. The version of
msvcrt.lib included there is the exact same one as comes with Visual Studio
..NET 2003.
There are some other things that might be usefull (e.g. the debug version
of msvcrt.lib) but msvcrt.lib is the most usefull thing.
Secondly, install the latest version of the Microsoft Platform SDK.

Ok i'm kinda new to ASP.NET. I got like 4 aspx pages right now, all with
there aspx.vb codebehind. Each of them need to connect on the same database,
so what I want to do is to create a module or a class, wich contain a
function to connect to the database.

I've been developing some Unix based shell tools.
They work fine on Linux and MacOSX.
I want to compile them on Win32. But I can't get hash_map to compile. I
tried downloading stl (and stlport) which is supposed to work in MSVC,
but it doesn't, it just generates tons of errors for stuff that used to
work just fine.
Where do I get fts.h to compile and dirent.h compile?

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
