On the subject of Data Warehouses, Data Cubes & OLAP….
I would like to speak frankly about Data Warehouses, Data Cubes and
OLAP (on-line analytical processing). Has it dawned on anyone else
that these buzz words were created by some geek who decided to take a
stab at marketing? Knowing that to the backwoods manager who knows
little of technology that new innovative names for old concepts would
help to sale their products.
I mean...

Hi all,
I'm a Bachelor in Computer Engineering, and going to study Masters
(major in Knowledge-Based systems). I'm quite fascinated by the concept
of data-mining and knowledge-based systems, and so I'd like to pursue
my career in this field. However, I'm not too sure about the
opportunities available in the field. Apart from research, what else is
(commonly) available? I'd be most interested in developing
knowledge-based software (e.g....

I need some help, I need to create a "sports portal" application with a left
side nav bar which is permanent.

display modules linked to NFl, NHL, etc.
I looked at dotnuke and that looks like it won't work for me, All the
modules will be DB driven from Oracle and several of them will have scores,

Hi,
I am studying data mining features of SSAS and for a workshop I've
created 2 views derived from vTargetMail view of AdventureWorksDW.
Train data consists every record except those in Pacific, and test
view consists only records from Pacific area.
1. I've created a mining structure based on Decision Tree and selected
BikeBuyer as predictable column.
2. According to input column suggestions, I've selected Age,
Eng.Education,...

I'm starting a project in data mining, and I'm considering Python and
Java as possible platforms.
I'm conserned by performance. Most benchmarks report that Java is
about 10-15 times faster than Python, and my own experiments confirms
this. I could imagine this to become a problem for very large
datasets.
How good is the integration with MySQL in Python?

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
