Microsoft Project and PostgreSQL?

Does anyone have experiences using PostgreSQL for storing Microsoft
Project data? MS Access, SQL Server and Oracle are supported
according to the manual. A simple test with PostgreSQL results in an
error something like 'Unknown data type "lo"'.

I have been unable to find any useful info on this issue on
www.google.com.

Any help much appreciated.

It seems that you try to access binary data fields. In postgresql the
type lo (BLOB) is implemented as oid or bytea. Read in the archives.

Try

CREATE DOMAIN lo AS oid;

That, in fact, kind of worked, in the sense that I got past the error
message. It looks like MS Project 2000 actually created all the
tables it needs, but - alas - it crashed, and all the tables were left
empty.

Thanks for your suggestion.

best,

-Klaus.

I need help from PHP land. I've just completed an open source work order management system in PHP on Linux (RH9). I plan to use an Apache license, which was recommended by a friend, so that I can make a free, open source version, and a proprietary, charge-only version. It'll sort of be like when you purchase Linux from a vendor that provides a printed manual, tech support, CDRs, etc., but could just as well go to the website to download...

MS Project inserts in this fields default date/time. I have checked that in database all data/time fields are witten correctly but problem...

mysql v4.0.16: I had been using mysql with innodb and thought that was fine, until i used it for something requiring a few - perhaps slightly involved - joins, and have now seen the performance become totally unacceptable. I have a query that takes over 35 seconds using mysql and innodb, for reasons that are completely a mystery to me, in a result set consisting of only a handful of items.

I noticed this gem for allowing the saving of MS-Project 2000 data into a Postgresql database, http://techdocs.postgresql.org/source.php#fmsproject posted by John P Cavanaugh probably a couple years ago, and was trying to make it work with pg 7.3.4 on RH 7.2. I got the odbc setup right, because I know I can connect to the database through an existing ODBC client, but MS-Project 2000 hangs and reports it "has encountered a problem"...

Hi all; A few years ago, I set about porting a PHP application from MySQL to PostgreSQL, after realizing that MySQL wasn't going to be able to handle it. In order to do this, I built a light, fast database abstraction layer which conforms to the behavior of the MySQL functions in PHP. This means that a large amount of porting work could be made simple using this porting layer if the application was originally used PHP's native MySQL...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
