Use composite type for column data type

Is it possible to use a user-defined composite type as
the data type of a column? for example,
create table tbl (
a integer,
b type1
);

type1 is a composite type defined separately using
CREATE TYPE clause.

Thanks!

Would it be OK to use varchar(5) instead of char(5) as the first field of a composite clustered index? My gut tells me that varchar would be a bad idea, but I am not finding much information on this topic on this when I Google it. Currently the field is Char(4), and there is a need to increase it to hold 5 characters. TIA

Basically I'd like to implement the composite design pattern with leaves that are either of reference or value types, but even using generics I can't seem to avoid boxing (using ArrayList or Object) Is this even possible, or is the composite pattern doomed to use the System.Object type forever? I have tried using interfaces with generics, but I always stumble on the Value property (when trying to return the value of a particular node)

Summary: 1. I want to define a column in anMS Access table to be lookups on other tables. 2. The table that is the data source (e.g the "parent" table) has a composite primary key. 3. When the "child" table does the lookup, it should pass all the columns necessary to properly restrict the data returned to the litbso for he lookup. 4. How do I accomplish this in a lookup?

Hi All There are 2 Tables: Tables are : Tbl1 ( 1col1,1col2,1col3,1col4) and Tbl2 ( 2col1,2col2,2col3) In Tbl1 (1col1,1col2,1col3 ) are composite primary key.So column values in column 1col2 may repeat Now Columns 1col2 of Tbl1 and 2col3 of Tbl2 are of same data type

I have a legacy table which is composed out three key fields. It is representing a bank. I'm using NHibernate in my ASP.NET application to glue everything together. I'm already searching for an answer the last couple of weeks, but to no aval. The table layout is: * customer id * bank name * bank account no status

I have created a fairly basic composite control consisting of a Label and a TextBox. In the overridden Render function, I'm creating a table with two rows and each row contains a cell (td). The Label and the TextBox are each rendered in one of the cells. Everything renders fine. The problem is that depending on the column the control represents I may want the textbox to be a different visible size during both design and runtime. I...

Hi All, I am about to make some changes to a process we have. The new process will have a new table who's job it is to store temporarily data such as customer, clerkno,productno, storeno , amount, time. On a new request from a front-end i will select against the primary keys to ensure no other request for the same data has been made. This is then sent to a backend system asynchronously if there is no match. I will otherwise send a...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
