I've recentlty been getting into programming. I was wondering what
language to learn first and after asking around I decided on Python.
I'm about half way through "Non-Programmers Tutorial For Python" By
Josh Cogliati (http://www.honors.montana.edu/~jjc/easytut/easytut/)
and I'm wondering where I should go after this. Any help is
appreciated, thanks.

Hi,
I am trying to run the following docstring using docutils.DocTestSuite:
"""

etc...

However, docutils complains about "inconsistent leading whitespace". Well,

Please ignore if you are allergic to ramblings :-)
Despite a puritan streak I've always tried to refrain from language wars
or syntax bickering; call it enforced pragmatism. That's the main reason
why I've liked Python: it's elegant and simple and still dynamic and
flexible. You could do worse for a clean and pragmatic language.
I do know my Smaltalk from my Common Lisp and my Ruby from my C#, so I
think I'm quite capable of escaping...

I get the following behaviour on Python 2.5 (OS X 10.4.8 on PowerPC,
in case it's relevant.)
(0.0, 0.0)
(-0.0, -0.0)
I would have expected y to be -0.0 in the first case, and 0.0 in the
second. Should the above be considered a bug, or is Python not
expected to honour signs of zeros? I'm working in a situation
involving complex arithmetic where branch cuts, and hence signed

Keep in mind this is my first compiled SQL program Stored Procedure
(SP), copied from a book by Frasier Visual C++.NET in Visual Studio
2005 (Chap12). So far, so theory, except for one bug (feature?)
below. At some point I'm sure I'll be able to laugh about this, akin
to forgeting a semi-colon in C/C++, but right now it's frustrating
(time to sleep on it for a while).
Problem--
For some reason I get the error when trying to save files...

I'm working on a website that nests framesets within other framesets.
I want a click in one top-level frame to show/hide a menu in a second
level frame. Hete's a code fragment:
var cousin2_doc = brother_frameset.document
var d = cousin2_doc
d.wp = function( obj ) { this.write( obj + '<p>' ) }
alert( d + ', ' + d.wp )

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
