updated linux startup script?

CSN
Is there an updated version of Lamar Owen's linux
startup script available? It initializes the database
on first invocation after initdb has been done
manually (even after changing all 7.3's to 7.4's in
the script), then gives an error on subsequent startups.

There are new rpms in the rpm directory. At least that's what Lamar's mails
said earlier today. There was also a replacement for the init script. Look
here for more information:

Into what location did you initdb? The script with the 0.2PGDG set is the
latest, one guy has already reported that it worked for him.

I did initdb -D /var/lib/pgsql/data. I downloaded the
attached script from this message -
http://archives.postgresql.org/pgsql...1/msg01258.php
- and will give that a try. (I was getting the same
"old version" errors as well.)

I have installed, started, and restarted successfully with the 0.2PGDG set on
Fedora. It isn't breaking for me as yet.

The utility requires a window to be open (or displayed) inorder to save the image. Also, this utility is in the form of an executable, so I can't possibly alter it. I want to run this utility from a windows web browser and display the saved jpeg file. I pass some command...

What you consider a "best way to deploy linux python app"? I don't want to install library modules into user's site-packages, so distutils is no help. Currently, I change sys.path (adding directory where library modules are stored) and I ask users to install application into /opt hierarchy, but I don't think it's optimal. -- Jarek Zgoda http://jpa.berlios.de/

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers.
