After installing Office 2003 PRO and attempting to run
SETUP to install the Visual Studio Tools for Office
version 2003, I get the error message "Your computer must
have Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 installed

I have VS Ent Arch 2003 installed on the machine. In

One of my development PC's died, and I need to have legacy VS and VS.Net
installed at the same time. On the now dead PC, I had VS6 installed prior to
installing VS.Net. This worked just fine.
On my working PC, I already have VS.Net installed, but not VS6.
My question, will installing the older VS6 with VS.Net already installed
give me problems with VS.Net. Or should I first remove the VS.Net, install
VS6, then re-install VS.Net?

Sorry about the cross posting to this group but I posted this question for a
coworker last week in the setup board and got no help:
hi,
If my project has subfolders and I have relative paths into those folders
(for images, xml files, etc.), after installing the application on the target
machine, the relative paths are different and nothing works.

my .application file with the new paths using mageui.exe.
..NET 2.0 installs OK, but right after it installs I get the following

Hi Everybody,
I have created a setup project in Visual Studio .NET 2005. The setup is
for Windows application. It works fine but I am unable to do somethings
is this:
1. The setup uses couple of files and dlls. There are 2 files: one is
help.xml file and other is help.chm file. Both have same properties in
setup project. But after uninstall, help.chm file is removed from the
install directory but help.xml remains there.

We're in the process of installing .Net 2.0 on our production servers
(all Windows 2000 servers). None of the applications on the servers
use .Net 2.0 yet: all are on 1.1.
As soon as we install .Net 2.0, we start getting problems with our

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
