how to find if domain name exists

What is the best function to check if a domain name exists. I had read
somewhere that checkdnsrr() can do the job, but unfortunately it is
not giving correct result all the time. For example it reports that
netvoice.com does not exist but when I go to domain registration
websites they indicate that the domain name exist.

Thank you
John

Hi all, I am referring to this article in MSDN : http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us/secauthn/security/logonuser.asp While creating folder on the remote machine, we are specifying the UNC path as per the example. But we get this error "could not find a part of the path". we are prefixing the path with @ symbol and also tried with the escaping the "\\".

I'm having some strange problems with a VB.NET application that I support. The application currently uses SystemInformation.UserName() and SystemInformation.UserDomainName() to determine who is logged in, and what network domain they are logged into. And for our environment here (logged into a domain), it seems to work just fine.

I found the following method: String path = "WinNT://MY.DOMAIN.COM"; String username = "administrator";

However, whenever I add the domain property to the cookie, no errors get thrown but the cookie doesn't get written. I am trying this from my localhost using vs2003, .net framework 1.1, windows xp prof. Sample code I am testing with is below. Public Class WebForm1 Inherits System.Web.UI.Page

Hi I'm trying to achieve a scenario where I have c# files that are compiled dynamically, the assemblies are then loaded in a different AppDomain, I call a simple method from the object, and then unload the AppDomain to release the lock on the assemly files (so to I can compile the code again if it has been modified). However, I've encountered a problem, whereby the assembly is also loaded in the default AppDomain! I have a few classes...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
