changing the values of xml nodes using PHP

Hi there,

Is it possible to use PHP to change the values of XML nodes in an XML
file witout having to extract all the node values, change the variable
I want, use PHP to generate the node structure and then save it as an
new XML file?

For example, say I have the following XML structure in an XML file:

<xml...
<settings>
<width>400</width>
<hieght>500</hieght>
<color>blue</color>

Is it possible to just use PHP to find the node 'width', change it to
600 and then resave the XML file? Cheers

Pretty easy with regular expression:

$xml = file_get_conten ts($filename);
$xml = preg_replace('/<width>.*?<\/width>)/i', "<width>$wi dth</width>",
$xml);
fwrite(fopen($f ilename, 'wb'), $xml);

hi,

i tried the above and got an error. after reading up on regular
expressions i fixed it with the following:

$xml = preg_replace('( <width>.*</width>)', "<width>$wi dth</width>",
$xml);

i havent included the parts such as '.*?', '/i' as well as a few
slashes. are these required?

I am going nuts trying to find a paragraph in a book that described how to change the text content (HTML) in a DIV. Actually I have an array of HTML strings that I want to drop into the DIV, depending on button clicks, etc. Putting this stuff into TEXTAREA and TEXT is simple, but I want to be able to mix font families, weights, sizes, and stuff like that. Thanks for your help.

I have a dynamically generated table, filled from a database by a perl application. Each row represents a database record and has a 'status' and a unique 'id'. What I want to do is create buttons to hide all rows with a particular status. The code to show/hide is relatively easy, but how do I turn them all off at once? Several ideas I had:

I'm the webmaster for a recreational organization. As part of one page of the site, I have an HTML "Calendar at a Glance" of the organization's events for the month. It's a simple table of a calendar, 7 across by whatever needed down, and I manually create it each month - not a big deal. Every day I go in and darken the background color of the current day's cell by changing the appropriate <TD> entry to <TD bgcolor="c63800"> and...

Hi When using XmlDocument, I can create nodes and attributes as I like. What I didn't achieve is changing the Value of a node (created with createElement), it claims that it's the wrong node type. When changing the InnerText, I loose all child nodes. When cloning the node and reassigning the child nodes of the original node to the cloned node, the children are not visilble in the InnerXml. To make it simple. How do I change the value...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
