PHP and file / image upload

I have written many programs for file / image upload over the years in
perl, but know that I am working more in php I find I need to be able
to do it in php now. I was gonna just do a google serach on how it is
done in php, but I though it would be wiser to ask the members of this
group how they accomplish it instead of relying on the top most hits
on a search that I may be wording wrong.

So, can anyone point me to some trusted docs, examples, etc on how to
handle file uploads on the server side in php?

Thanks in advance

THanks Myron and Captain. Just did a brief look (didnt do any coding
yet) at the php.net one and see you need to set your form up a
specific way, what if you are using Flash to upload a file?

Hi There, I have a PHP script that sends an email with attachment and works great when provided the path to the file to send. However this file needs to be on the same server as the script. I want to develop a webpage where people can send attachments that are stored on their local PC.

I have looked everywhere on the web for an answer to this and the only thing I can find is converting the image format when the file is present on the local filesystem. What I want to do is use a web form to upload a TIFF image (scanned images) and convert it to a JPEG before I insert it into SQL Server. The file upload part works great, but I can;t convert the image. I certainly don't want to upload it the the server filesystem, convert...

I've been working with this PHP page for several days now and I'm stumped. The page is supposed to allow the user to upload up to six images for their profile. When the user adds an image it (the page coding) does verify file size, if correct it places it on the server in the users folder and with the correct names and extension, creates the thumbnail and adds the correlating file name. However, it only adds the first file name to the database....

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
