I'm using windows xp. I have installed pear packages on my server by
using the command line, which seems to be the only way to do it.
However, I want to reinstall a packege. If I try, I get a meassage
saying the package is already installed. For example, even if I delete
upload.php, it says http_upload is already installed. Where is it
getting this information about what is installed from ? How do I
reinstall a package?

Type "pear" at the command line and you will see a list of options.
There are 2 options which are of interest to you:
pear uninstall package_name (to uninstall a package)
pear upgrade package_name (to upgrade a package)

I have a book which had code that includes the line:
require 'DB.php';
I know that this is from the PEAR code modules, but when I downloaded
them and unpacked the directory, they "DB.php" module does not exist.
Is this out of date or do I need to go somewhere else to get this
extra module?
Thanks

On the PEAR site, the page for each package lists other packages that are
dependent on it. That's nice, but is there way to determine which other
packages the package itself depends on? It seems to me that would be much
more useful information. So far, the only way I can see is to load the
package, see what require()s fail, then try to figure out which packages
those files belong to. Surely there's a better way?

Hi all,
I've been using PHP for a while now but I haven't actually used PEAR. I
have just read half a chapter in a book, it sounds alright but haven't
actually used it. I was just wondering, is it really necessary to use
PEAR? I usually get things done using PHP/MySQL. I don't know if I'm
really missing out on something by not using PEAR. How highly is it
recommended? On most job ads, i don't even see them mentioning PEAR.
They mostly...

Re: only got "pear.old_bat"
I had a previous post ".. Upgrade Methods ..." and so far I've gotten
around most thorny issues, including patching php5.1.4 with
php5apache2_2.dll so I can run it as module with Apache2.2.3
I need a educated response from a PEAR developer, if possible
My 1st run go-pear
died because I exceeded "maximum execution time" while researching the
1st ?

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
