Hello,
Was wondering if anyone could help me out with a bit of wierd prob. I
have pear installed in a UNIX box, with PHP 5.1.2. I'm trying to
install some packages by running pear install package.tgz, but always
end up with something like ....
pear/XML_Parser requires package "pear/PEAR"
No valid packages found
install failed
So i try to install PEAR package and end up with ...
Skipping package "pear/PEAR", already installed as version 1.4.6
No valid packages found
install failed
I run pear list ....
Installed packages, channel pear.php.net:
=============== =============== ===========
Package Version State
Archive_Tar 1.3.1 stable
Console_Getopt 1.2 stable
XML_RPC 1.5.0 stable
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be happening here??
Thanks,
J 2 2447

Is there an easy way to do this?? I'm new to the server side of things.
Would re-installing mean a recompile of PHP?? we********@gmai l.com wrote:

I am trying to set up a local verion of Pear in my shared account,
which my host said I can do. I have SSH access, and I followed all the
instructions in the Pear Manual for setting up a local copy on a shared
host. Everything seems to have gone fine, the directory structure is
set up in my home directory in a folder called pear, and when i run
config-show everything points to this directory. I then created a
..htaccess file to include...

The manual gives all assurances of how easy this is, and it might be.
What I thought was strange was, this line:
"Pick a location to store your local copy of the remote code. "
ex: uses C:\remote\pear
Later install packages, and they transparently, get uploaded as well.
Does this mean you have have PEAR installed in 2 different places on
your local machine?
C:\php\pear would be standard location.

I'm having a problem installing php. The compile seems to go fine, but
when it gets to the install step I get the following errors. Does
anyone have an idea of what might be the problem? We build our
applications under three different environments (Linux i686, Linux
x86_64, Solaris 8 Sparc). This is the first of the three on a RHEL 3
system using the current stable versions of the GNU toolchain in a
segregated environment. Basically...

Hi,
I've installed PHP 4.4 on my Mandrake 8 system. I want to install a
PDF library, but when I run the "pera install" command, I get a strange
error
# ./pear install pdflib
Command '/usr/local/lib/php/pearcmd.php' is not valid, try 'pear help'
Does anyone know what this means and how to fix?

I've been battling to install PEAR on Windows XP now for too long. I
am not sure what I need to do.
When I run go-pear.php from the command line, I get the error message
as shown at the end. I included everything in case there is something
there that's helpful. I'm trying to install PEAR so that I can use
PHPUnit.
Thanks for the help!!!!

I remember having problems with pear when I first installed it but got
it running some time ago. This is on a windoze XP SP OS. I did not think
it was correct because it pointed to "C\php\pear\PEAR". I writing a pear
front-end GUI and I want to have it installed correctly.
It seemed to have some duplication of directories between the lower and
upper cased pear dir names. Should there be a "php\pear\PEAR"
subdirectory? I thought it should...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
