Find Country Code for Phone Number using PHP

32 New Member
Respected sir/madam,

In My Application, users can send me an email with some keyword 'XXXX' to our mail server 'XXXX@xxxxx.com '.i am using imap_open() and other imap functions to read that email and auto respond the email.

My Issue is, i am receiving some email with country code as email id(say <country code><phonenumb er>@<carrier.co m> and some without country code as email id <numberphonenum ber>@<carrier.c om>

Is there any way to match <country code> using Phone Number.I thought to implement this concept.but i don't think its 100% perfect

if phone number start with '9',i will attach indian country code as 91(bcz indian mobile numbers usually start with 9)
if phone number start with '2',i will attach US country code as 1.

i want to make sure,if there any other way to resolve my siiue or can i proceed with my current implementation.

Thanxs for suggesting some ideas.

Yours Respectively,
A.Suresh Kumar

Hi,
I doubt that you'll be able to implement this the way you've set out. If I get you right, you're asking this question:
"Is it possible for me to determine the country of origin of a phone number, simply from analysing to the phone number itself?"
The answer would be a categorical "NO", as the very part of the number that would have helped you is the country code itself!
For one thing, in Nigeria, there are dozens of phone networks, with many, many number patters varying with the kind of platform. When you add different area codes, it gets even more complicated. See?
So, why not just provide for users to choose their country from a form?
Regards,
Ifedi.

Hello everyone! First, I appologize if this posting isn't proper "netiquette" for this group. I've been working with perl for almost 2 years now. However, my regular expression knowledge is pretty limited. I wrote the following expression to take (hopefully) any _reasonable_ phone number input, and format it as (999) 999-9999 x 9999.

Hi Again; I have had help from this group before and want to thank everyone, especially PCDatasheet. My database includes a field called HomePhone, it uses the (xxx)xxx-xxx format to include area code. When a customer calls, I currently use Ctrl F with the HomePhone field highlighted. Then I enter the last 4 digits and use the find next option. This is cumbersome, so I have tried several methods (including a macro) using comand...

This message isn't spam or an advertisement or trolling. I'm considering farming some of my application development to offshore shops (I'm in the US). I have absolutely *no* experience w/ this, and therefore I'm looking for comments, suggestions, etc. on how to go about this w/o getting screwed. My current application development is primarily database-driven apps in C++/C#, so I'm looking for programmers w/ up-to-date skills.

I am currently in doing a program which is given by my tutor: Contemplate that you are working for the phone company and want to sell "special" phone numbers to companies. These phone numbers are "special" because they are easily translated into words. You've been asked to create a list of phone numbers that are directly mappable to words by searching a dictionary for every 7 or 10 letter word that maps on to the phone lettering scheme: ...

Hi, I'm trying to learn some STL using map or hash_map would maybe even better to use but I don't really know how to find a specific struct depending on a DWORD value that is in range of two DWORD values (see below for more). So what I trying to achieve is creating a look up table of a IP adress with a start adress (a DWORD value) and a end adress (a DWORD value) which I would like to look up to the get the Country name

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
