Hello, I'm working on a search application for my website. The website contains a lot of pictures, and a search should return clickable thumbnails. No problems there. My problem started when I wanted to build in NEXT and PREVIOUS buttons, so that you only get 5 or 10 or 20 (I haven't made up my mind yet) thumbnails at a time. I use a SQL LIMIT statement to achieve that. After displaying the first 5 pictures I would like to see the next 5,...

I've seen plenty of articles on this topic but none of them have been able to solve my problem. I am working with an Access 97 database on an NT4.0 machine, which has many Access reports. I want my users to be able to select a report, click on a command button on a form, which will then automatically create the report as a pdf file and save it to the user's machine. I am using Adobe Acrobat (5.0 I think) and have Adobe Distiller as a

My husband and I own a small temporary labor company and deal with 4 major clients (A,B,C & D), each of which has about 2 dozen units in our tristate area that we deal with (ie, Company A, units a,b,c,d,e etc). We send temps possessing various skills (cashier, cook, hostess, etc) to the individual units as needed. What I'm trying to do is create a schedule we can use each day, for example: Monday, June 1, 2004 Company A, unit e Alice...

Hi folks, I'm looking at moving a large base of C++ code to .Net under tight time constraints. The code runs in mission-critical environments, and I am extremely concerned about the loader lock problem and the potential for deadlocks. After pouring over the available information, and trying a few experiments, I am still left with a few questions and issues I hope someone out there can shed some light on.

I'm still trying to do this but it never worked! In a .cpp file, I write the code, and at the beginning, I write: #ifndef MYLIST_H #define MYLIST_H ....to end: #endif What's wrong with it for creating a header file when compiling? Do I need to write in the block the #include (s)?

Hi, I'm trying to understand how to work the dom, and all I'm trying to do is insert a link right before another link in the html based on it's href value. This isn't a real world example - I'm just trying to do this in phases to understand what's going on. I'm getting an error (Object doesn't support this property or method) in IE and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Can anyone tell me? if (navigator.appName == "Microsoft...

Hello, The code below works great. The user enters a name into an HTML form, the code looks up a table with that name, and then that table is displayed. I am trying to use pagination with it, and the pagination almost works. The first page of the pagination works fine, but when I click on one of the links for one of the next pages, the page is blank. I have seen people mention this problem, and they have been told that a variable is...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
