Php/Ajax redierecting problem

Hi All,

I am a newbie in Ajax. While i was working with login page, i am checking the user name and passwords and i am not able to redirect the page using the code:

$rs1=mysql_quer y("my Query");
$row=mysql_num_ rows($rs1);

if($row>0)
{
header("locatio n:UserHome.php" );
exit;
}
else
{
$response = "Invalid login...";
echo $response;
}

[/php]

Actually i am sending back the response if the login has error, else i want to redirect the page.
But this redirect is not working properly.


Can anybody help me with a fast solution... Im screwd.

If you are using AJAX, then you won't want to redirect using PHP at all. Instead, you will want your PHP script to output a code depending on whether the login was correct and then have the JavaScript interpret it.

$rs1=mysql_query("my Query LIMIT 1");
$row=mysql_num_rows($rs1);
mysql_free_result($rs1);
 
 if( $row>0 )
    {
        echo 'OK';
    }
    else
    {
        echo 'INVALID';
    }
 

.
.
.
if( response == 'OK' )
{
    window.location.href = 'UserHome.php';
}
else
{
    alert('Boo!');
}
