I like to develop a search mechanism using asp in my web site. This key word search mechanism will search the keyword within my web site and return the urls that matches keywords. Any sample code or tool would be good. Thanks for your time.

Can anyone point me to a good tutorial for creating a site-level search applet? I am trying to create a virtual catalog of sorts, and I would like to be able to search the catalog and have the results displayed on the same page with one column text and an image of the product. I've seen several tutorials that create site-level searches that will bring back a search results page with options to choose from. I am looking to create a...

Hello, I searched, but couldn't find answers--probably because I'm not sure what this is called... Anyway, I have about 50 web pages and I want to have some JavaScript that will read in a list of keywords, scan the web page and create links on any of those keywords... Is there any way to do this sort of thing? Thanks!

Hi, I am looking to have a search option on my site, but am not sure how to go about it. I would like to have the option of searching the site for keywords, and also a web wide search. I have looked at the Google version of this, but I would rather have the results opened in my site, rather than being redirected to Google. If anyone has any ideas as to the way I should go about this, it would be much appreciated.

Hello everyone, Can anyone recommend a good online site to learn PHP? The W3Schools website is quite lacking - leaves much to be desired. I'm sure there are many places, but which ones are good? I currently run a site with an extensive photo gallery. Hundreds of photos. Right now I have a system which the thumbnails are laid out in a table. You click on a thumbnail and you see the full size picture. That full size picture is in its...

Hi, Since I have made changes to my website it's been a complete flop. According to the logs, as soon as visitors have downloaded the index page they are off. I can't figure out why? http://www.review-a-gadget.com/ Is there anything obvious that I am missing? Are there problems with some browsers? Please let me know if you notice anything.

Hi, I have a problem with existing customers from an old site, coming to my new asp.net 2.0 site with the user roles and membership, and trying to login with their old details. As you know, the new built in membership encrypts passwords (I know you can use the system without encrypting the passwords, but this what i have unfortunetaly gone with), so I can not simply import the data from the old database into the new one.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
