Heya, Updesigns. Welcome to TSDN!

Simply use a variable to keep track of where you're moving the file and then store that variable's value in your database:

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. $target = '/path/to/new/dir/' . makeSafe($_FILES['inputName']['name']);
  2. .
  3. .
  4. .
  5. move_uploaded_file($_FILES['inputName']['tmp_name']), $target);
  6. .
  7. .
  8. .
  9. $_sql = "INSERT ... '{$target}' ...";
  10.
the makeSafe() function above would reference whatever input validation procedure you had defined to make a file path safe (escapes or removes special chars, removes '../', etc.).

Hi, I would like to upload office-document (doc, xls, ...) using a form to a website (apache, php, mysql) in a specific directory and if possible insert it into a table (MySQL-db). Is this possible. If yes, how ? You don't have to explain it in detail, a link to a website or online manual or example is fine. Thanks,

I'm currently building a web site for a small club I belong to and one of the features I would like to include is the ability to allow users to upload image files. unfortunately the servers web root www folder only allows READ and EXECUTE permissions, which makes it...

Hello everyone. I'm having problems with a page I've created that is used to insert data into a database. I list it because the errors are not showing at all, and I need a fresh pair of eyes to look at it. Any answers, critisims (constructive), or other talk...

I typed <?php chmod ('_uploadedfiles_xxxx',640); ?> into notepad and saved it as php in the uploaded_xxxx folder, when I went to test it, the error...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
