Looking for a flexible Polling/Voting Script

19 New Member
Hi folks,

Just wondering if there are any php polling scripts that can be used for this type of situation.

My site allows people to set up their own Website with no coding whatsoever. I need a polling script that will allow users to choose write a question and some Answers (a poll) that is displayable on their Website.

Anyone know of a poll that allows this? Or maybe one that can be easily modified to support this functionality.

Peace

Al

I can't think of one right now, but googling PHP Polling returns lots of results. You could always write your own as well.

I've seen a few out there, ranging from free to $150. I was looking for a recommendation for an image ranking script, like the one at http://www.ratepic.com. You have 10 radio buttons for quick voting. No signup required. After voting the voting buttons would be removed for that picture. I'd like to give users the option of viewing top rated pics first, and to allow pictures to be sent as e-cards. Jason

Listening to National Public Radio while reading comp.lang.python. What a life! I just heard a piece on NPR about the security failures of an electronic voting system being developed. I know a voting system could be developed in python. I am working on a simulator myself to run via the web (a personal project only) Are there any features which would make python a viable alternative to develop a real voting system for use in the US? Why...

Hi All I've used couple of GPL/free voting scripts (some of these are very good), but need to create/find one that allows users to add a new answer. For example: This is a voting question - which answer is the best? a) answer a b) answer b c) add your own answer, vote for it and allow next voter to see this answer as voting option.

I've got a voting script that's a little too simple. I can vote as as many times as I can click on the link in my browser. I'n not trying to write an official voting system but I would like to do something as simple as catching the user's IP address and remembering it for a time interval. That has it's own problems, but it would at least prevent double clicks. I can get the IP #, but how do I store it on a server? I can do a flat file...

Hi all. Is it possible to implement an accurate voting mechanism (think digg.com) that does not require users to sign in before voting? I think for many people registering is pain and thus they rarely give their votes online. Just look at digg and compare the number of votes to the number of people visiting their website. IOW what if somebody needs votes but cannot afford to bother users with registration process?

Hi All, Can anyone suggest me a voting / polling tool to be used for photo contest. It is fine if I link out to their site. I want to upload all the photos, and allow visitors to vote ONE TIME only. I think this would be a part of the tool, and also there is some sort of mechanism in place to safeguard as well as possible keeping people from voting more than once. Thanks in advance.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
