I am trying to store formatted text (windows format) into a MySQL database and then retrieve it. The field in the database is a varchar. I cut and paste the test into a form field formatted, then call the PHP program to add the record using POST. When I get the text out, it has lost it's formatting. Formatting in the text is achieved by multiple spaces not tabs, but even multiple spaces are converted to a single space and the carrage...

Here's the scenario: I have a DataList populated from a datatable sitting inside a fieldset. Each element (row) in the Datalist has the following child controls: asp:checkbox, asp:image, asp:labels. Within the <form>, but outside the fieldset, containing the datatlist, I have a usercontrol (used to collect search criteria) and some asp:button controls (used to initiate actions - ie. retrieve db data, reset user control fields,...

I'm currently using ASP.NET with VS2003 and SQL Server 2003. The ASP.NET app i have made is running on IIS v6 and consists of a number of pages that allow the user to read information from the database into classes, which are used throughout the application. I have made class collections which, upon reading from the DB, create an instance of the class and store the DB values in there temporarily. My problem is that if user1 looks at...

Please note, I already posted this on the MySQL official forum, but received no response. I thought I'd try again in another location. My apologies to anyone reading this twice... Despite everything I've tried, I cannot get MySQL to start as a Windows service. However, I AM able to get it started via the mysqld-nt --console command. Here is my (funky) setup:

FYI - New to ASP I'm trying to get multiple values from checkboxes inserted into a table using arrays. I'm using VBscript - ASP 1.1 (not 2.0) and here is what I want to do. I have a page that displays a list of news articles - includes Article_ID, Title, Date. I have a checkbox next to each Title that automatically gets assigned a name of "CB0" - "CB1" and so on, the value of each checkbox includes the Article_ID number (unique to each...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
